During the past consortium meetings, the SWOPT partners held two highly focused workshops: one dedicated to the development of the hardware setup and inversion algorithms, and another centered on the creation of new photoswitching agents and the development of relevant model systems for the future testing. These workshops proved extremely valuable, enabling productive technical exchanges and strengthening collaboration across teams.
Building on this success and energised by the momentum of the Third Consortium Meeting in Crete, the partners agreed to establish a regular series of online workshops. These now take place every two months, in alternating weeks for each topic area, bringing together the scientists to share results, refine approaches, and jointly tackle emerging challenges.
The workshops follow a free‑format structure without a rigid agenda, fostering open dialogue and dynamic interactions. This flexibility is particularly important at the current stage of the project, where multiple technological developments are converging towards the assembly of the novel prototype and the definition of the tools required for the final proof‑of‑concept planned at the end of SWOPT.
These recurring sessions are already helping maintain strong alignment across partners and ensuring that critical scientific and technical questions are addressed efficiently as the project is entering the exploitation phase.
