SWOPT Consortium Meets in Crete for Its Third Project Meeting
From November 5th to 7th, 2025, the partners of the SWOPT project gathered in Heraklion, Crete, for the Third Consortium Meeting, hosted by our partner FORTH.
Over two productive days, the consortium engaged in a mix of progress presentations, focused technical discussions, and strategic planning sessions. Partners reviewed together the advancements made across all work packages, openly discussed the most challenging scientific and technological aspects, and jointly defined the next experimental steps.
A key part of the meeting included an updated assessment of the project’s risk management strategy, ensuring that the consortium remains aligned and ready for the upcoming project review in Autumn 2026. Critical decision for the next implementation phase were made, with all partners contributing to shaping the priorities for the months ahead, and always with the successful completion of SWOPT as a shared goal.
Despite the intensity of the sessions, the meeting was enriched by informal networking moments, including social activities and shared meals featuring traditional Cretan cuisine, which were a welcome opportunity to strengthen team spirit.
The SWOPT consortium now moves forward with renewed momentum and a clear roadmap for the upcoming project phase.
