The year 2025 has seen the birth of the Spain Netherlands Organic Chemistry Symposium (SNOCS). This first edition took place at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) in the Mediterranean city of Tarragona.
In this new symposium, scientists from the Netherlands and Spain working in the field of organic chemistry came together to discuss scientific challenges and to foster collaboration between the two countries. The programme, composed of lectures, flash presentations and poster sessions, offered researchers the opportunity to present their work and exchange ideas. In this setting, Rosa M. Marquez from UMCG presented her advances in the development of synthetic photoswitching dyes that will be further used to benchmark the capabilities of the SWOPT imaging system.
