SWOPT at the EIC Summit 2026

On June 3-4, 2026, the EIC Summit took place in Brussels. This is one of Europe’s leading events for innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurship. Over two days, the summit brought together innovators, researchers, project teams, investors, and key stakeholders from across the European innovation ecosystem.
Representing SWOPT, Ivy Curren, Deputy Director of Research at the SWOPT coordinating institute IBMI (Helmholtz Munich), and Giannis Zacharakis, Research Director at the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser – Foundation for Research and Technology (FORTH – IESL), engaged in valuable discussions with fellow EIC-funded projects and potential stakeholders. These exchanges provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the progress of the project so far, explore synergies with related initiatives, and strengthen collaborative relationships that will support the project’s long-term impact.
As SWOPT enters its final phase, increasing visibility and maximizing project outcomes are key priorities. That is why participation in this event played an important role in supporting the project’s dissemination and exploitation activities, ensuring that project results reach relevant audiences and contribute to future innovation and adoption.
The summit also highlighted the importance of collaboration within the European innovation landscape, exchanging knowledge, identifying new opportunities, and building connections that extend beyond the project’s lifetime.
