The European Molecular Imaging Meeting (EMIM 2026) took place on 24–27 March 2026 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, bringing together researchers to advance imaging technologies from basic research to pre-clinical and exploratory clinical applications.
A total of five members of the SWOPT consortium participated, presenting work related to the development of the instrumentation, the photoswitching agents, and the proof-of-concept models. This included four posters presented by Huma Khatoon (Helmholtz Munich), Maria Tampakaki (FORTH), Eirini Makrygiannaki (FORTH), as well as talk delivered by Kostas Mavrakis (FORTH). In addition, Giannis Zacharakis chaired the session on Optoacoustic/Ultrasound Instrumentation, reinforcing SWOPT’s strong presence in imaging technology innovation.
