SWOPT at SUPERBLOOM Festival 2026

The Superbloom Festival 2026, held from August 29 to September 4 at Munich’s Olympiapark, is an event bringing together music, art, innovation, and science through a diverse programme of activities. Within the festival’s SuperBrain area, researchers and science communicators engage visitors with cutting-edge scientific topics. As part of the Pint of Science booth, Bjarne Perleberg delivered an informal presentation on optoacoustic imaging and the SWOPT goal of revealing biological processes deep within living tissue. Throughout the event, he actively engaged with attendees, predominantly teenagers and young adults. As this audience is not always easy to reach through science communication activities, the level of interest and participation observed during the event was particularly encouraging.
